ENDORSEMENTS

“Barrett Owens is driven. He has an entrepreneurial spirit surpassed by no other. He has started several businesses, seen them succeed, been knocked down, and risen back up to be successful again. I admire his tenacity in accomplishing his goals, in business of course, and particularly as they relate to his family.

Barrett is also a selfless man of character. I have had the privilege of being along side him in coaching, bible study, workouts, and mission activities. Through all of this interaction, I have never, ever, questioned the character of this man or the motive for which he serves others. He is constantly in pursuit of helping the next man down. He has jumped to help me on numerous occasions.

Barrett cares deeply about his children and their peers. Barrett’s family comes first, as is evident in how he loves his wife, and cares for and spends time with his

children.”

“I am writing to you today encouraging you to elect Barrett Owens as Trustee for Position 7.  We have known Barrett and his family for a number of years now and he has demonstrated to me values that align perfectly with the Board’s priorities.  He demands excellence in academic achievement from his children and expects excellence from those providing the education.  As a small business owner, he understands the value of his employees while expecting superior work ethic, positive behavior, continuous improvement and mission-driven behavior from them.  As a man who loves to construct things, including my current home, he recognizes the value associated with STEM and the many facets of the business world where these skills are in demand and can be applied.  He has demonstrated superior budgeting skills in addition to overall business acumen in running his construction companies as well as rehabbing a failing bank in his previous professional career.  It goes without saying that he understands the value of a safe and secure environment for our children to learn and thrive in.”

“It is with great pleasure that we endorse Barrett Owens for the Lovejoy Independent School District Board of Trustees.  We have known Barrett for many years through our mutual involvement with church, bible study, and professional entities.  Barrett has always exhibited care, thoughtfulness, and diligence to “get the job done” through our interactions.

The students of Lovejoy ISD deserve the care and foresight of an engaged school board.  Barrett and his wife, Paige, are active parents of three Lovejoy students.  Their involvement in the children’s activities is never-ending.  We know Barrett will always be actively concerned with all grade levels, administration, and planning for the future.

We are proud parents of graduates of Lovejoy High.  We have witnessed the value and compassion this District provided our children, and we know that the future of Lovejoy I.S.D will be in good hands with Barrett Owens serving on the Board of Trustees.”

Respectfully,

Mark and Sonja Paxton

“Barrett is a smart, strong leader. He is a person that will work hard to understand situations and bring

well thought out solutions to the issues. He is confident in his beliefs and will stand up for what he truly

believes to be right for Lovejoy ISD and its students. I also believe that Barrett’s experiences as a

successful business owner have taught him how to make the best decisions for an organization, not just

for himself.

Barrett has a huge spirt of giving. He goes above and beyond to help people in need. Through his

leading of bible studies, organizing community service events, and teaching youth through sports he has

truly given back to his community through servant leadership.

This is the type of person that I want on the board of trustees to help make the correct educational

decisions for not only my children but for ALL the children of Lovejoy. For all these reasons I truly

believe that Barrett is the best choice for the open board position, and I hope that you do too.”

“We have had the pleasure of knowing Barrett Owens both professionally and personally for over 15 years.  During this time, Barrett has demonstrated a remarkable work ethic, a willingness to listen, and exceptional dedication to every project in which he is involved.  In addition, Barrett has been a consistent and tireless volunteer for many areas within the community.  These qualities make us excited to support Barrett in this upcoming election for the Lovejoy ISD School Board.  We know Barrett will keep the interests of all students and staff members in mind and continue to pursue excellence in the Lovejoy community.”

Stacy and Jason Jaynes

My family has had the pleasure of knowing Barrett Owens for almost eleven years. In fact, he was one of the first people we met when we moved to Lovejoy. Over those years, I have been impressed with Barrett’s character and integrity. Not only is he a very smart businessman- owning and operating several very successful companies but he is also a servant at heart. He is always looking for ways to be involved and give back to the community.

On a personal level, I know Barrett to be a genuine person that takes a true interest in people. The first time we met, he knew that we were new to the community and sought us out, introducing himself and his family and sharing a little bit about Lovejoy. On a professional level, I know Barrett to be honest, a good communicator and detail-oriented. He is open and very responsive when questions or concerns arise.

I think Barrett Owens will be an asset to the Lovejoy ISD School Board.

“I am writing to offer my wholehearted support for Barrett Owens for LISD school board.

I have known Barrett for over six years, first as a neighbor and recently in a business context. Barrett holds strong family values and knows the importance of putting effort into our school district. He is generous and selfless when it comes to investing his own time in our community.  He has the commitment and drive needed to make a difference in the future of our school district, and as a board member, he will represent our community with honor and integrity.”

Sincerely,

Geoffrey Wiss, MD

Barrett Owens is a hard-working, ethical, and kind person who will, no doubt, apply those same qualities in service to LISD's School Board. His family is one of the most wholesome and industrious families I know. He would be a wonderful addition to the School Board. As my oldest son starts his educational journey in Lovejoy schools next year in kindergarten, I trust that his future will be better off with Barrett as part of the decision-makers guiding his education.”

Michael Robertson, DDS, MSD

“To talk about a “man for others” would be to talk about Barrett Owens. It would be a burdensome task to find a person more qualified to lead LISD...this man is a leader, a colleague, a mentor, a visionary, and a friend. Please join me in supporting Barrett Owens for LISD School Board Position 7”

“We are privileged to write this endorsement of Mr. Barrett Owens, candidate for the Lovejoy ISD Board of Trustees.

We have known Barrett and his family since moving into the Lovejoy School District in 2012. We are blessed to have the opportunity to spend time with Barrett and his family both socially and professionally. He is always quick with a smile and an offer to help in any way that he can.

Barrett’s commitment to the Lovejoy community is demonstrated in a number of different facets, most recently by being appointed to the Lovejoy ISD Board of Trustees in 2019. He operates several businesses that are heavily focused on serving the area; spends a significant amount of his ‘spare’ time in the youth sports arena, coaching club baseball and softball for his son Cooper and daughters Jade and Macy; and he and his wife Paige are active in their church, having served on numerous occasions as small group leaders.

Barrett is the epitome of a team player, always willing to roll up his sleeves and do whatever it takes to get the job done, and done right! Barrett is a successful business owner that will use his knowledge and experience to lead Lovejoy ISD in a positive direction in the future. During his time on the Lovejoy Foundation, Barrett demonstrated his commitment to making sure that Lovejoy ISD is able to provide the very best for our children.

Barrett has been and will continue to be an advocate for Lovejoy and our children. His passion for helping people, especially children, and young adults, ensures that Lovejoy ISD will continue to provide our children the opportunity to achieve great heights. Your decision to support Barrett Owens for Lovejoy ISD’s Board of Trustees will reward the Lovejoy community for years to come.

With warm regards,

Gina and Jeff LeGare

“We have been personal friends of the Owens family for more than a decade and have both had the opportunity to serve on boards and committees with Barrett. After God and family, the students of Lovejoy and our community are Barrett’s priorities. He was an active member and President of the Foundation for Lovejoy Schools for many years. During that time, Barrett led the Foundation to new fundraising records, which led to more funding for LISD teacher classroom grants. After “retiring” from the Foundation, Barrett and Paige have continued to generously donate and support the Foundation to enhance the classroom experience of LISD students.

We know Barrett will work to continue and expand Lovejoy’s success academically and athletically. Most importantly, he will help facilitate pathways for Lovejoy to graduate students equipped to make a positive impact in our world. He is also a smart and capable businessman with the ability to comprehend and navigate the financial issues Lovejoy may face in the future.

Barrett is a servant leader who shows up for friends and neighbors whether there is a small or large job to be done. His joy comes from the success of those around him. We are proud to call Barrett our friend. Please join us and support Barrett Owens for Lovejoy Board Trustee Position 7.”
